For a night out on the town a cooler than cool eco-bag helps move the evening along smoothly. Bonus points if your bag is also eco-friendly, shiny, and fun. I’m currently loving the eco-bling offered up by the MiniFlare Handbags.

Today I have a review of a great Tarte product for you…

USE: rise & shine is a double lip hit. It comes with a gel-based lip tint and a glossy lip overcoat to go over the tint.
COST: Normally $21 - BUT currently on sale (head to the bottom of this post for details).
INGREDIENTS: See ingredients - they’re fully disclosed on the Tarte website and gloss packaging.
ECO-PERKS:
- rise & shine is butylene glycol free, petro-chemical free, paraben free, phthalate free, gluten free, GMO free, propylene glycol free, sulfate free and made with natural fragrance.
- rise & shine is infused with Tarte’s super fruit complex.
- Not tested on animals.
- The outer packaging is extremely minimal and recyclable, but note; I’m not sure that the actual lip stain container is recyclable. In good news they do have a recycling program for many of their products.

- Tarte has eco-ethics in the workplace and offers green tips at their site, plus are a member of The Natural Products Association.

Once in a while you see one of those tops that you know you’d wear all season long - like the Organic Cotton Smock Top from Organic Keiki.

This top is so darn simple, but has little touches that make it totally cute, like the beautiful blue tree screen print and the sweet little buttons. Made with 95% SKAL certified organic cotton and 5% lycra. There’s ice blue details at the top of this smock, and the straps are adjustable. I REALLY need this top. [click to continue…]

So, I’ve been absent for a good long while. Life has been nuts. With summer comes some chill-down-time though, so hopefully I can kick this blog back into shape, starting with a killer place to pick up some designer green clothing at incredible discounts.
The prices at greenRohini are totally amazing and their collection pretty darn nice. For example, I recently saw these three eco-goodies at deep discounts:

Deborah Lindquist Inverted Pleat Dress - This inverted front pleat dress is simple and sweet for summer made with handwoven peace silk and organic cotton lace accent. Regular price: $285.00 / Sale price: $71.25!

I’ve got two totally random brown items today. I happen to be a huge brown fan. It’s dark, so it can be dressy, but it’s not black. Brown has a little more character, and personally I think it matches my skin tone better than black (but that might just be me). In any case, I love this Sacred Valley Wrap Sweater in espresso above. Made with pretty merino wool and alpaca. Falls to low hip, which is perfect and has that great pop of orange - way too cute. Hand Knit in Peru and Fair Trade. From Indigenous Designs. Most of us have a nice long list of stuff we want to try right? I do. You should see my bookmarks. I have guilt issues with this though. You really shouldn’t try LOADS of stuff. It’s more eco-friendly to find good products and stick to them. You tend to have less waste this way, plus it saves you $. Luckily the way around the guilt is to use up everything you do try. If you don’t like it, you’re sure to have a girlfriend who will gladly give your beauty castoff item a whirl. Also it helps if you choose items in recyclable packaging.
That aside, I do have a wish list of green beauty products. I tend to buy from my wish list when it’s a special occasion (my birthday! I get a new project i.e. job, or what have you). Here are a few of my yet to try wish list items… [click to continue…]
